Dear Distinguished Guests

Respectful Carnival Chairman, Secretary General Lai, All Predecessor Masters, and Every One of Our Predecessor Members of Our I-Kuan Tao Families and Members, Hello, Everyone.

 

First of all, congratulations to a complete success of all the activities in this event and well-being to all the distinguished guests.

 

Vegetarian living, vegan (vegetable diet) living, vegetarian diet once a week, vegetarian meal once a day, etc, are all the prevailing fashionable (current and modern) life language today. Vegetarian is no longer just a practitioner term of the religious word. Under the name of vegetarian today, in addition to religious practice factors, there are concerns and considerations of health and health factors, preservation in environment, protection in planet-earth, animal welfare, respecting life, love and wellness, etc. With the global climate change, the United Nations in the appeal, scholars and experts urge and remind everyone that for every day to make an endeavor to mitigate global warming, the easiest way is probably to be a vegetarian. According to the research, being a vegetarian a day can reduce seven kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions; and from here we can help the planet slow down the warming. If we can do more of vegetarian living, our health is guaranteed; and there are great benefits to the peace of nature.

 

Over the past 70 years, vegetarian atmosphere become of more dynamic and popular worldwide. Even the religious groups and leaders have praised that one of the main driving force for vegetarian is the consistent advocacy with passion from I-Kuan Tao societies throughout all the countries around the globe. The mission of I-Kuan Tao is to spread Tao worldwide. I-Kuan Tao practices the principles and wishes of "The Purpose of Dao (Tao)” to transform the world into a peaceful, honest, and orderly society, to enlighten the minds of people and enable them to return to a state of benevolence, by pursuing this path, to bring the world into a state of equality, fraternity, harmony, welfare, and justice –      the World of Da-Tong (Dah-Torng) as the purpose of evangelistic vision. The World of Da-Tong is near because of I-Kuan Tao. From 1930 onwards, Patriarch Zhang, Tia-Ran and Matriarch Sun, Hui-Ming obeyed the Heavenly Decree to attain the Heavenly position to spread the Great Tao to this world of human being, from China Shandong province, spread all over mainland China. During the period of transmission of Tao, the concept of vegetarian diet was also carried and shed with numerous seeds of vegetarian culture along the ways. At the end of 1945, after Taiwan's reestablishment, many I-Kuan Tao Elders and Seniors came to Taiwan to promote Tao. Those I-Kuan Tao pioneers were entirely unfamiliar with Taiwan. Not knowing the area, they based on their most faithful belief and started to promote Tao to individuals. It was begun with one individual to another individual, one family after another family. At the same time, the vegetarian concepts of life were also introduced to the people. After decades of continuous efforts, I-Kuan Tao in Taiwan had steadily grown more widely acceptable and more popular in prosperity of promoting the Tao mission. Along the way, vegetarian concept has also become a more flourishing and a modern trendy fashion in Taiwan. Meanwhile, I-Kuan Tao had also spread from Taiwan to all countries in the world. Currently, Tao has been successfully established with growing Tao environments in more than 80 countries in the world. "The Republic of China I-Kuan Tao Headquarters" was established in 1988 in Taipei, Taiwan, "Cambodia Kingdom I-Kuan Tao Headquarters" was established in 1995 in Phnom Penh, and "World I-Kuan Tao Headquarters" was established In 1996 in the United States, Los Angeles. Today, I-Kuan Tao Headquarters had been established in 14 countries in the world.  In every country where I-Kuan Tao exist, there are people advocating vegetarian concept.

 

In order to sustain a broad-based vegetarianism, the Taiwan I-Kuan Tao Chonghua Vegetarian Association hosted the Third Annual Asian Vegetarian Forum in November 2007 at the Tiantai Mountain Shen Wei Society, Kaohsiung, with over 3,000 delegates attended from nearly 30 countries in Asia. The Malaysia I-Kuan Tao Headquarters also hosted the 6th Asian Vegetarian Association Annual Meeting, also known as the 41st Annual World Vegetarian Conference and International Vegetarian Carnival in Kuala Lumpur in October 2013. Cambodia I-Kuan Tao Headquarters started from 2013 has held and will be holding a vegetarian carnival, every year in December in Phnom Penh. This is a popular annual event, widely appealing and attracted by the Cambodian national government and the people here in Cambodia.

Today in the world, vegetarian life has become influential and significant. With the Cambodia National Government Executive and the community leaders affirmative support, with all the passion of promotion from Cambodia I-Kuan Tao Headquarters, vegetarian life has become welcome and popular in Cambodia. Today, being born in this world is very fortunate. If we can live with a little more vegetable diet, there will be more happiness and fortune for our own generation and for many more generations to come. We all want to live enjoyable and live happy. We hope that our children and grandchildren will be able to live happily and comfortably, so that we shall and we must take good care of our common homeland; that is – Earth. We bear this common responsibility as the human being living on this planet. In our daily life diet, choosing vegetarian life, vegetable food life, can be said to be the most intelligent choice, because vegetarian living is the most fashionable and timeless of lifestyle. It is not only the most fashionable and timeless, but also it is always contemporary, current and modern and a necessary way of life.

 

Cambodia I-Kuan Tao headquarters since its inception in 1995, has long been engaging in social services throughout Cambodia, from multiple phases and aspects of moral, cultural, educational, charitable, welfare and other pluralistic promoting society to become a positive forward oriented driving force, and created a virtuous cycle of the society appreciated by the State Government of Cambodia and obtained the community affirmation and support.  The annual vegetarian carnival will be held in honor of the honorable officers and honored guests, the organizers of all the branches, the leaders of all countries and the representatives of the Cambodian Consulate General and all the delegates of the festivities; and from now on every each annual convention will all be in a complete success and play the majority of benefits.  I believe that next year the fifth annual vegetarian carnival and thereafter the more and more numerous vegetarian carnival will also all certainly be more prosperous and successful. The people of Cambodia will definitely be happier, healthier and more prosperous with good luck and sustainable harmony.

 

Finally, I would like to once again wish the fourth vegetarian carnival in Cambodia a complete success and everyone be successful and prosperous in promoting the Tao mission.   To your Excellency, dear honor and distinguished guests, I wish all of you well and happiness.  I wish the Cambodian Kingdom continue to prosper and the world maintain peace and harmony.
